Abstract :
The paper describes a single phase hybrid multilevel inverter with front-end multi-string topology. Multi-string topology consists of PV strings with separate MPPT control and boost converter. Inverter circuit consist of a line-frequency single-phase half bridge inverter in series with a high-frequency H-bridge inverter. This circuit can achieve high efficiency, low harmonics and it can reduce the voltage stress on the inverter switches. Since the circuit having independent voltage control, it can be easily controllable. This paper includes the study of proposed photovoltaic system with independent MPPT control, inverter topology and its control. Simulation and experimental results shows the viability of the proposed topology.
