  • Abstract
A gain-scheduling control scheme produces a nonlinear global controller from a series of local controllers tuned at specific operation points. A major problem on the design of gain scheduling controllers is the design and implementation of the switching logic to have a smooth plant response all over the operation range. This point is solved with the application of fuzzy logic, which maintains advantages of gain scheduling strategy for nonlinear process control. In this paper three well-known PI/PID gain scheduling fuzzy controller design approaches were analyzed and the advantages and disadvantages of the interpolation mechanism of each of them were analyzed.
