Abstract :
In this paper a two stage, grid interactive, solar photovoltaic modular integrated converter is designed, simulated and analyzed. The focus is on the power conversion stages since the modular integrated converters do not have any battery and the major share of the balance of cost is determined by the inverter. An efficient inverter system is necessary and a challenging task due to the low power rating of the system. The system is simulated with Matlab/Simulink and a detailed efficiency analysis has been conducted in the designed system with resistive load varying from 0 to 250W range and efficiency plot is prepared and thoroughly analyzed. Additionally to have a clearer picture with its performance when reactive loads comes into play, efficiency analysis has been conducted with varying power factor conditions and observations were made and efficiency curves were plotted. A comparative analysis has also been conducted between all the loads behavior with efficiency and inferences were drawn.
