Abstract
In two-tier networks, which consist of macrocells and femtocells, femtocells can offload the traffic from macrocells and provide better indoor signal coverage, but the dynamic deployment feature of femtocells may result in signal interference. In this paper, an efficient femtocell deployment scheme is presented to mitigate interference. Both functions of frequency channel allocation and transmission power adjustment are proposed. Signal coverage of a set of femtocell base stations with interference can also be extended by re-allocation frequency channels. The simulation results show that the proposed deployment scheme mitigates the interference efficiently and has better network performance as compared with co-channel and cognitive deployment approaches.
