Abstract :
This paper presents a proposal for an m-Health system that allows medical services for on-line and mobile consultation. In order to have access to specialized medical services, portable biomedical equipment and telecommunications systems have been developed and integrated in an advanced platform. The portable biomedical equipment based on a low power mixed signal microcontroller allows diagnosing diseases in their early stages by recording and analyzing vital signals while the telecommunication system, based on wireless and Internet technologies, allows the access to the m-Health system. The m-Health system is intended to provide more and better services, personal treatment, early diagnosis and other advanced health services resulting in a better quality of life in urban and rural locations. This paper presents an m-Health system proposal formed by on-line and on the move capabilities, access to a central data base, and access to advanced tools to provide teleconsultation and health services.
