Abstract
A position and attitude measurement technique using charged-coupled device (CCD) cameras is presented for a large gap magnetic suspension application. The design concept is discussed, the circuit block diagram is outlined, and was implemented. Efficient algorithms to determine the attitude data from position data are discussed. A real-time CCD measurement system is established. The proposed real-time measurement system not only detects position and attitude of the magnetic suspended model, but also feeds back these signals to a personal computer for real-time magnetic suspension control. System analysis and test results are presented
