Abstract
Networked control systems (NCSs) are feedback control systems with control loops closed via digital communication channels. This paper reviews the recent results on network-induced delay and packet dropout. The approaches dealing with continuous-time NCSs with delay are reviewed, and the jump system approach is presented to model the variation of delay. The non-uniform distribution characteristic of network-induced delay is taken into full consideration, and the linear estimation-based packet dropout compensation method is reviewed.
