Abstract
An algorithm for the estimation of the parameters that characterize a damped sinusoidal signal is presented. The procedure is based on a suitable post processing of the discrete Fourier transform samples. Initially a single cisoid signal is analyzed, then the results are extended to the multiple cisoid case. Numerical simulation results show the good accuracy obtained under various measurement conditions, thus proving the reliability of the proposed method in a number of engineering applications
