Abstract
Wireless body area networks (WBANs) have become increasingly practical in recent times, especially with the development of new standards for low-power, short-range electronic devices. Reliability of communications and power consumption are paramount to the widespread adoption of this technology. In this paper, we focus on lightweight coding schemes, for the erasure channel. Such coding schemes have low computational complexity and are very suitable for WBANs. We analyze the robustness of said schemes against packet erasure from the perspective of graph theory and linear algebra.
