Abstract :
This paper summarizes a shape selection basis for the streamline fishlike body to reduce the flow drag. Friction drag and pressure drag acting on the three proposed streamline body are simulated at high Reynolds number. The effects of shape outline including the inflow section and outflow section are revealed by comparing the boundary layer characteristic. The results show that, the ellipse and parabola streamline body has the best flow drag performance, and the shape of smooth transitional obtuse shape for the inflow section and convex outline and sharp tail with a positive curvature for the outflow section is suitable for the shape design of underwater vehicle.
