Abstract :
Most of existing researches on energy efficient coverage configuration in wireless sensor networks (WSN) do not take into account the failure of sensor nodes. Sensor´s failure will cause a sensing coverage hole so that affect the coverage performance of WSN. In this paper, we first present a fully localized Region Division Mechanism (RDM), which can efficiently control the coverage percentage of the area of interest (AoI). Then, we propose a Head Supervision Mechanism (HSM) to make WSN can adapt to sensor failure and avoid every chance of the occurrence of sensing coverage holes. Simulation results show that our mechanisms guarantee the coverage performance more stable than other designs.
