Abstract
This paper focuses on identifying issues in the emerging segment of the market referred to a extranet. The motivations for extranet are discussed along with the general requirements in extranets. Issues relating to security, addressing, and connectivity are identified. The paper discusses commonly used extranet configurations and identifies the need for carrier provided extranet services
