  • Abstract
The method for airbag control developed uses two different parameters to predict the severity of the crash. The first parameter is the change in vehicle velocity, which is used to discriminate between barrier crashes. The second parameter is the length of the filtered accelerometer signal curve, which is used to discriminate between all other cases. The authors tested the algorithm on crash data and found that the results were very close to the requirement
