Abstract :
An efficient affine projection (AP) algorithm, the filtered-x AP algorithm (FXAP), is presented for multichannel active noise control. This algorithm is based on the filtered-x scheme and uses the fast error vector computation and a recursive method to calculate matrix inversions. The new approach provides a significant saving in computational cost compared with other fast versions of the AP algorithm and a faster convergence speed than the filtered-x LMS (FXLMS). The performance of the FXAP is evaluated in a practical ANC system. The proposed algorithm is specially suitable for real time multichannel ANC applications running on a digital signal processing (DSP) card.
