The progress of 3G and B3G in China

Summary form only given, as follows. In 2002 the Chinese and Japanese governments started the IPv6-CJ project for the collaboration of supporting a nationwide lPv6 testbed and developing IPv6 network technologies and applications. CERNET2 will be a native Pv6 Gigabit nationwide backbone connecting 20 GigaPOP´s at 10G and 2.5G over CERNET DWDM network. More than 200 universities and research institutes in China will connect to CERNET2 at 1G-1OG DWDM link in 2004. CERNET2 will connect to another IPv6 academic networks in the world with high speed, such as Internet2 backbone, GEANT and APAN backbone. Using IPv6 technology, CERNET2 will move forward together with global Internet to be large scalable, much fast in the end to end performance, more secure, more real timely and more convenient to be accessed.
