Abstract :
The potential of high-efficiency laser buried grid cells in CZ wafers is evaluated for use in concentrators up to 20 suns insolation. The standard one-sun cell shows acceptable efficiency up to seven times concentration. Simple modifications of the one-sun cell structure have been evaluated with measurements up to 12.6 suns. The best structure was optimized in its fabrication, and produced an efficiency of 18% (25°C) and showed the potential to achieve 20% at 20 suns
