Abstract

Personal mobility services allow the PCS user to receive and manage all incoming calls via a single personal number and personal service profile regardless of which network access (wireline or wireless) technology is being used. For the PCS user, this means providing callers with a single phone number instead of multiple phone numbers. It also means that the PCS user can route all missed calls to a single voice mailbox. The paper provides a description of personal mobility services along with an overview of Stentor´s AIN technology trials carried out in 1994. Stentor is the alliance of Canada´s nine major telephone operating companies
