Abstract
We have proposed a new IP optical network architecture called "multilayer service network architecture" that is focusing on an optical backbone network of large ISPs and carriers. We make clear requirements for accommodating IP service networks into the multilayer service network in terms of reliability and stability. And we propose new routing models that meet the requirements. These routing models are necessary for utilizing optical layer protection and restoration schemes effectively and for optimizing optical resources by LSP cut-through and LSP reoptimization.
