Abstract :
A tightly integrated product that combines digital rural subscriber radio technology, cordless telephone technology and personal computer based small switch technology is proposed as a way to drive down costs per line and rapidly expand basic services in rural areas of developing countries. Innovative adaptation of current generation systems is all that is required. This paper outlines the requirements and concept of such a product and presents the need for international cooperation and partnerships to achieve large scale implementation
