Abstract
In this presentation, the economics of FTTH network is discussed, focusing on key parameters impacting technology decisions. FTTH architectures are compared: gigabit passive optical network (GPON), point-to-potint (P2P) and active Ethernet (AE). Key sensitivity analysis parameters impacting GPON capex and opex savings, Greenfield and overbuild FTTH deployment, hybrid deployment using DSLAM cabinets are also studied.
