Abstract :
In RFID-tags of ubiquitous communication systems, meander line antennas are appeared as promising small antennas. In this paper, first of all, an over view of electric performances of meander line antennas are shown. Next, an additional method of reducing antenna sizes is investigated. By loading high εr materials, antenna miniaturization is expected. When meander line antennas are packed both sides with dielectric materials of εr=100, resonant frequencies can be decreased to one third of the unloaded frequency. In this case, input resistance is decreased to one half of the unloaded value. Calculated results show effectiveness of this method.
