Abstract :
Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives have been successfully developed to fulfil the special requirements for electric vehicles, such as high power density, high efficiency, high starting torque and high cruising speed. A significant progress in power semiconductors together with their control improvement has allowed us to reach higher quality of the generated output waveform. In this work simulation and analysis of a PMSM are presented. Since we are dealing with electric vehicles, our analysis is based on torque control. The different performances of PMSM drives are obtained using software packages
