Abstract
This paper presents a time-to-digital converter which employing a multi-phase voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO). The VCO operates at 1GHz clock and generates 16 phases which then expanded up to 64 phases, thus the resolution has expanded to 6 bits. With this technique, any time-based ADC could expand their resolution easily without using a higher frequency.
