  • Abstract
Yunnan heavy color painting has the distinctive properties of Chinese line drawings. In order to enhance the effect of non-photorealistic rendering of Yunnan heavy color painting, an approach that extracts the graphic elements which can reflect the characteristics of line drawings from Yunnan heavy color paintings and using them to synthesize Yunnan heavy color line drawings was proposed in this paper. A system with the functions of collecting, operating, drawing and managing graphic elements was designed and implemented. To improve the operability and build a graphic elements library for the non-photorealistic rendering of Yunnan heavy color painting, the system adopted many methods such as graphical interface design, cardinal spline curve fitting, graphic layer, and graphic elements management at different levels. The system can be used in a variety of fields where lines need to be extracted and modified.
