  • Abstract
Nowadays energy efficiency solutions and renewable energy usage are very important topics because of the rapid decrease of the energy sources. For this reason, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics together with its partner the University of Oradea, Faculty of Management and Technology, have won 972.730 EUR financial support to launch the Intelligent Building and research laboratory project. The sum available in Debrecen was 448.900 EUR, enabling our Department to renovate the old health centre and launch the new Building Mechatronics Research Centre. Our the researchers have the chance to search the methods and technologies to reduce the energy consumption and to increase the amount of on-demand controlled, on-site produced renewable energy. In the laboratories of the Research Centre, engineering students are also involved to get acquainted with modern, industrial technologies and take part in researches and projects.
