Abstract :
As we all known, handoff delay and packet disorder affect badly handoff performance in mobile IP. In this paper, we, from the theoretical point of view, model and analyze them in the case of cell overlap for the first time, and get the general expressions of their probabilities, respectively. The probabilities are very helpful to evaluate handoff performance and optimize the radius of overlap region.
