Abstract :
The conductor-conductor gap is a practical operation parameter in transmission lines. In the past, the insulation distance between conductors was determined only by a simple impulse voltage. But for compact lines, a more precise model of sparkover characteristics should be studied in detail. In this paper, the influence of a pre-stressing AC and floating electrode on the U50% composite sparkover voltage for a conductor-conductor gap is discussed
