Abstract :
To ensure power system safety and reliability, it is important to know whether or not corona occurs at the end of insulators, or in the region of the intense field of HV apparatus. This paper gives the ultrasonic characteristics for both DC positive corona and DC negative corona, which could be useful in diagnosing the insulation states of insulators and HV apparatus by an ultrasonic method
