Abstract :
A new technique for on-line temperature monitoring in high-voltage devices is proposed. The main principles and the structure of the software and hardware for this device are introduced. The signal is transmitted by infrared light, and the PTCR inorganic material is employed as a new temperature sensor. The transducer consists of the PTCR sensor in series with resistance. It has high sensitivity, broad dynamic range and good temperature resolution in the 80-110°C range. The results of the experiments show that the technique satisfies the heat-circle repetition and time-effectiveness stability. The devices can be applied to the joint point of the main circuit in GIS or metal enclosed switchgear
