Abstract :
Photonic band gap structures with single and multiple defect sites are considered for application in multi-beam klystrons and particle accelerators. Coupling between the modes at defect sites and methods to damp unwanted higher order modes are evaluated. A conceptual design of a multi-beam PBG klystron is presented.
