Abstract :
MR microscopy is becoming an increasingly valuable tool, particularly as medicine moves to the cellular level. Researchers have demonstrated exquisite resolution through technical advances in RF surface coil design. This entails the use of a microcoil and a corresponding small field-of-view, representing a limitation of the technique. This paper examines using parallel imaging techniques and large arrays of microcoils to increase the field-of-view at no expense to imaging time.
