Abstract
This paper describes a Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) package for the topic of sequential control. This is written in HyperCard and uses various animation programs. The novelty of the package lies in the animation of electrical circuits to show step by step the functioning of a sequential control circuit. This is also linked to animations of the mechanical systems they control. Students are thus able to observe, as many times as they require, the steps in the operation of such a control system. This approach has been found to be very useful in teaching students who found difficulty in inferring the method of operation of such circuits from a single circuit diagram that only illustrated a single state
