Abstract :
A discussion is presented of the influence of high voltage and ultraviolet radiation on the impulse strength of glass. The impulse strength depends on polarizing voltage and irradiation time in a complex way. It is shown that the impulse strength of sodium-potassium glass decreases about 40% if the polarizing field intensity is over 10 kV/mm and ultraviolet irradiation time is over 22 min
