Abstract :
This paper studies the short-term electric power load forecasting. First, we use the product of polynomial functions and Fourier series as a function of load trends. After that the goal programming model of parameter estimation is established, and it is solved by the pattern search method. Finally the model is tested through the actual load data in a region from May 27th, 2008 to June 2nd, 2008. The relative error of prediction is 2.44%.
