Abstract :
Exposure of the biological cells to an external electric fields can cause the change of the transmembrane potential on the cells, leading to a variety of biochemical and biophysical change of the cells which can be evaluated by power dissipation. The second analytical models were derived to calculate the power dissipation within the cell membrane in high concentration suspensions exposed to DC fields in this paper. The equations show that the power dissipation depends on the intension of external fields, the conductivity of the cytoplasm and external medium, the cell arrangement and the cell density.
