Abstract :
A failure-prone flexible manufacturing system with random part processing time and random product demand is considered. The scheduling policy is derived by formulating the process as a discrete-state Markovian decision process using unification technique. This paper investigates the development of a neural network architecture for candidate rule selection for such FMS procedure
