Abstract :
The response of feed and spindle current signal caused by the cutting force are analyzed based on the cutting experiment. From the results of the time and frequency analysis of the cutting force, the cutting force token in the current signal of the feed motor is identified. Considering the time-varying and non-stabilization of the current signal in the cutting progress, wavelet transform method is used to reconstruct the cutting force token from the current signal. So the cutting force can be on-line monitored in the machining progress. The relative experiments are designed to test the method.
