Abstract :
An intelligent system for automatic calibration of the dynamic response of high-pressure transducers up to 1 GPa is described. It consists of a quasi-delta-function pulse generator, an A/D converter, a data acquisition system, a DFT (discrete Fourier transform) system and an IBM PC/XT. The shortest time duration of the hydraulic pulse received is 10 μs. The DFT system is designed to finish the response-calibration in less than 60 seconds, print out and store the results, and plot the modulus and phase shift against frequency, if necessary. The sampling rate is variable, the maximum being 20 MHz. The whole system is automated. The response characteristics have a well-defined zero-frequency value which is normalized as the unit value in modulus and zero phase shift. Therefore, dynamic sensitivity calibration can be carried out using the static sensitivity calibration data
