  • Abstract
This paper describes the development of a Portable Voltage Regulator for Low Voltage Networks applications (PVRLVN) that aims keeping consumers feeding voltage within the limits set by Brazilian Regulations Agency (ANEEL). PVRLVN allows adjusting grid voltage by means of the addition or subtraction of the adequate amount of voltage through an isolated secondary winding of a Buck-Boost transformer, so the PVRLVN output voltage will fall within the adequate ANEEL´s voltage range. Power control is carried out based on static switches connected in the tapped primary of the Buck-Boost transformer with their control done by a microprocessor. The regulators prototypes developed were installed in several different locations in actual network of the AES-Eletropaulo and AES-Sul both Brazilian local distribution companies. Tests and results obtained are presented and discussed.
