Abstract :
DHT based P2P systems are popular nowadays for distributed file sharing. At high peer churn these systems suffer performance degradation and low stability. Fault tolerance is also very poor. To reduce the performance degradation caused by the reorganizations, we proposed a location-aware cluster based hybrid hierarchical protocol (LCH2P). In LCH2P two upper layers are Chord networks and the lower layer is a flooding based unstructured P2P network. All Peers are organized into clusters, based on geographical location proximity which reduces look up latency. Our simulation results shows LCH2P reduces look up latency quite significantly over flat chord network.
