Abstract :
An AC voltage standard has been developed for the 10 Hz to 1 MHz frequency range for rapid calibration of precision 6.5-digit AC voltmeters. Absolute calibration uncertainness of 37.5 p.p.m. in the 40 Hz to KHz range have been demonstrated over a 90-day calibration interval. A fast-responding vacuum thermal element and null-comparing AC to DC converter as well as a stable linear low-distortion analog phase-shift oscillator have been devised to assure stability and performance of the new instrument. Microprocessor control includes IEEE-488 bus capability. Digital calibration permits closed-loop computer-aided calibration and performance verification using a programmable AC-DC transfer standard
