Abstract
Based on the theory of human settlement environment, this article chooses the important influencing factors on Human Settlement of Urban Community (HSUC) by remote sensing technology and establishes a quantitative quality evaluation model of human settlements of residential community. And then taking one of the urban communities at a university in Hubei province as the study region, the human settlement´s quality of experimental area is assessed. The total score of quality assessment for the study area is 73.1 which show that the area has nice human settlement quality. According to the investigation to the study area, there are several multi storied buildings distributed evenly in this residential community. And there is much public green space among these buildings and distributed evenly which indicates that the green area ratio of the residential community is higher. The study area has the better quality for human living, so to speak. Therefore, the results of our model for calculation the quality assessment on HSUC in our study are more tally with the practical condition of the residential community.
