Abstract
The several different demosaicing or color interpolation methods are available to obtain the original image captured with a CFA (Color Filter Array). Use of any of these available methods need to be supported by an effectiveness measure of the algorithms for it to be useful. This paper proposes a fuzzy based measure to establish similarity measure for Color Interpolation algorithms. This similarity measure though adopted from feature similarity comparison, yields reasonable values which can be successfully employed for comparison of color interpolation algorithms. The experimental results at the end of the paper demonstrate the strengths and effectiveness of the proposed method. Though we have employed this method for comparing demosaicing algorithms, it can be very easily extended to other image processing applications as well. This measure is not aimed to replace any of the existing measures; rather it provides an alternative less computation intensive measure for demosaicing.
