Abstract :
We present reduced-periodicity subspace-based blind adaptive decorrelating and MMSE detectors for synchronous variable spreading length (VSL) multirate DS-CDMA systems. These detectors trade off the maximum attainable SIR (signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio) and the convergence speed of the detector and are low-complexity alternatives to the blind decorrelating and MMSE detectors that process the multirate signal at the rate of the lowest-data-rate user. In addition, we present very simple subspace-based proofs of some key results obtained for dual-rate multiuser detectors
