Abstract :
A novel concept for multichannel A/D conversion is presented, which relies on the basics of spread spectrum techniques. Based on code division multiplex the novel approach enables the simultaneous A/D conversion of several signals by means of only one single powerful A/D converter. Depending on the system parameters used, a remarkable reduction of the quantization noise can be achieved compared to state-of-the-art multichannel A/D conversion concepts. Especially when utilizing the same A/D converter in the novel concept and in state-of-the-art concepts, the superiority of the presented code division multiplex based approach becomes evident
