Abstract :
Recent progress in research on optical fiber grating couplers (FGCs) is reviewed. Furthermore, applications of FGCs, such as an ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) noise reduction filter, a gain monitor, an add-drop multiplexer and an all-optical switcher, are also presented.
