Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the performance of turbo codes when applied to a direct sequence/slow-frequency hopped code division multiple access (DS/SFH CDMA) system with partial-band interference, multi-user interference, full-band thermal noise, and Rayleigh fading. We consider turbo decoding with or without side information: the knowledge of Rayleigh fading, the knowledge that the transmitted bit is jammed or unjammed and the knowledge that the transmitted bit is hit or not. Simulations are performed for coherent reception, variable number of bits per hop, and cases where side information is available or unavailable to the turbo decoder. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective against partial-band interference and multi-user interference
