Abstract :
A simplified vector control scheme of an induction actuator is revisited. Its performance in terms of flux and speed control is compared with that of a control scheme based on an exact inverse model of the motor for determining the flux amplitude and angular position. The comparison is made by taking into account the discrete and nonlinear effects that the PWM inverter used as amplifier introduces. It is shown that these effects make less significant the performance reduction inherent to the use of the indirect flux estimation performed in the simplified control algorithm
