Abstract :
Surface discharge activity is extremely detrimental to the properties of the underlying dielectric to which the discharge is closely coupled and is of general interest to electrical engineers, chemists and polymer scientists. The surface discharge can either be used for situations when a diagnostic tool is required to investigate surface degradation and ablation, or as a means of generating light of specific spectral content and in the creation of chemically active species for processing as well as electronic sterilisation
