Abstract
This work presents one method to classify myoelectric signal employing higher order statistics. The results letus to obtain control commands of one parallel mechanism for a prosthetic transhumeral elbow. Themyoelectric signals are obtained from the user´s muscles in four channels. The results are commands of movements for the prosthesis in order to emulate a biological elbow. In this case, the higher order statistics is the best method because is easy to implement and have fast processing and can be programmed using a DSP microcontroller.
